It bears rich burgundy-purple, very double, quartered blooms (~8–12 cm) on an upright, 1.2–1.5 m tall bush, with glossy dark-green foliage and a strong fruity–spicy fragrance—winner of the 2002 Rome Gold Medal for fragrance
