How to winterize climbing roses?
Climbing roses are best winterized by bending them to the ground and covering them with spruce needles, dry peat or some other breathable material.
To prevent rose shoots from breaking, the rose should be bent slowly, gradually and gradually, preferably even over a longer period of time (depending on the situation).
It is advisable to place a round object on the ground in place of the bend (a regular log of firewood can be used) so that the bend is not sharp and the shoot does not suddenly break.
Bend it gradually, tying the shoot to the ground.
!!! It is advisable not to prune climbing roses, because most climbing rose varieties form their flowers on previous years' shoots.
